Bangladesh Municipal Election news and Pourashava Election result

The Election Commission (EC) has decided to deploy armed forces in 56, Border guards in 56, armed and Border guards in 8 districts, Several law enforcement agencies including the police, RAB, battalion Ansar in 123, out of over 243 municipalities in 29 districts, during the upcoming city polls on Jan 12, 13, 17, 18 and 27.
Commissioner Sohul Hossain on Tuesday said: "BDR will be deployed in the border areas, while Coast Guard will monitor the coastal areas."

The Coast Guard members will be in the field two days before and after the polls in Patharghata of Barguna, Lalmohan of Bhola and Hatia of Noakhali.

Another commissioner Sakhawat Hossain on Monday said "The home ministry and the EC have selected some municipalities for army deployment."

"The finance ministry has approved allocation of Tk 170 million, of which Tk 130 million can be drawn in advance," The money will be spent for setting up of voting centres, necessary printing, transportation and remunerations for the officials concerned.
